말씀: 히브리서 11:1-7

제목: 살아 계신 하나님을 기쁘시게 하는 믿음

믿음생활은 크리스챤들만 하는 것이 아닙니다. 믿음생활을 하지 않는 사람들이 없습니다. 믿음의 대상은 알라, 귀신, 영적인 존재와 부처, 공자, 자기 자신을 포함한 사람들만이 아니라 동물과 식물, 산, 강과 바다, 돈, 성공, 등 이 세상에 있는 모든 것들이 다 믿음의 대상이 될 수 있습니다. 그렇다면 믿음생활에서 가장 중요한 것은 무엇일까요? 내가 정성껏 믿고 있다라는 것보다 내가 무엇을 믿고 있는가? 그 믿음의 대상이 가장 중요합니다. 아무리 믿음이 좋아도 믿음의 대상이 아무런 능력이 없거나 도리어 나에게 피해를 주는 것이라면 그것은 잘못된 믿음입니다.

술이 위로를 줄 수 있다고 믿습니다. 날마다 술을 의지합니다. 마약이 기쁨을 줄 수 있다고 믿습니다. 정말 위로를 주는 것 같고, 기쁨을 주는 것 같지만 결국은 우리에게 주어진 소중한 삶을 망가뜨리게 됩니다. 우상을 믿는 사람들의 마지막 종착지는 어디일까요? 지옥입니다.

크리스챤의 믿음은 어떠한 믿음일까요? 우리 자신이 아닌 창조주 하나님을 믿는 믿음, 독생자시며 구원자되시는 예수님을 믿는 믿음입니다. 믿음이 필요한 이유는 하나님이 우리들의 눈에 보이지 않으며, 삶의 환경이 힘들고 어렵기 때문입니다. 히브리서 저자는 믿음은 바라는 것들의 실상이요, 보이지 않는 것들의 증거라고 전합니다. 히브리서 저자가 말하는 믿음은 부자가 되고싶고, 성공하고 싶고, 내가 하고싶은 일을 믿으면 다 이루어진다라는 뜻으로 말하는 것이 아닙니다. 우리들이 기도해도 응답이 없고, 여전히 어려운 일들이 눈 앞에 산재해있고, 순교를 당하는 상황 속에서도 끝까지 구원자 되시는 하나님의 아들이신 예수님을 믿으라, 지금은 보이지 않지만 반듯이 보게될 날이 올 것이다. 믿음의 선배들이 무엇을 바라보면서 어떻게 살았는지 보라고 전합니다.

아벨은 하나님께서 기뻐받으시는 예배를 드린 이유로 인해서 가인의 시기와 질투로 가인에게 살해를 당했습니다. 어떻게 하나님께서 기뻐받으시는 예배를 드린 이유로 죽임을 당하게 된 것일까요? 예배자 아벨의 인생은 성공인가요? 실패인가요? 하나님은 아벨을 의로운 자라 하셨고, 아벨은 죽었으나 믿음으로써 지금 이렇게 말하고 있습니다. 하나님께서 기뻐받으시는 예배를 드림으로 순교한 예배자 아벨입니다. 진정한 믿음의 사람은 참된 예배자입니다.

에녹은 하나님과 동행하였고, 죽음을 보지 않고 하나님께 올라갔습니다. 사도바울이 전했던, 살아도 주를 위해 살고 죽어도 주를 위해 죽나니 사나 죽으나 주님의 것임을 믿는 믿음입니다. 진정한 믿음의 사람은 항상 주님과 동행하는 사람입니다.

노아는 하나님의 말씀에 순종하여 비가오지 않는 오랜 세월 동안 방주를 준비한 사람입니다. 노아가 방주를 준비함으로 그의 온 가족이 홍수 가운데서 건짐을 받게 됩니다. 믿음의 가장, 한 사람이 이렇게 중요합니다. 여러분의 가정에 하나님의 말씀에 온전히 순종하는 믿음의 가장이 있습니까? 없다면 여러분이 그 믿음의 가장이 되시길 소망합니다. 믿음의 가장은 지금 눈에 보여지는 것이 없어도 하나님의 뜻대로 끝까지 인내하면서 순종하는 사람입니다.

믿음이 없이는 하나님을 기쁘시게 할 수 없다고 했습니다. 믿음과 소망 가운데 인내하며 절제하고 순종하여 하나님을 기쁘시게하고, 하나님께서 주시는 많은 복을 받고 누리며 나누시는 저와 여러분이 되시길 소망합니다.

사랑의 하나님아버지!

하나님의 살아계심을 믿습니다. 힘들고 어려운 현실 속에서도 끝까지 하나님의 얼굴을 바라봅니다. 하나님께서 이루어주실 것을 믿고 순종하며 나아갑니다. 우리의 믿음의 순종으로 하나님께서 기뻐하시길 원합니다. 하나님, 하나님의 뜻대로 순종하는 우리들에게 복을 내려 주시옵소서.

믿음의 근원되시는 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 기도드립니다. 아멘!

Title: Faith that Pleases the Living God

Living by faith is not something only Christians do. Everyone lives by faith. Faith can be directed toward Allah, spirits, spiritual beings, Buddha, Confucius, oneself, as well as animals, plants, mountains, rivers, oceans, money, success, and everything in this world. So, what is the most important aspect of living by faith? It's not just about having faith, but it's about what or who you have faith in. The object of your faith is crucial. No matter how strong your faith is, if the object of your faith has no power or even harms you, it is misplaced faith.

Some believe that alcohol can provide comfort and rely on it daily. Others believe that drugs can bring joy. It may seem like they provide comfort or happiness, but ultimately, they destroy the precious lives we've been given. Where do you think idol worshippers end up? It is hell.

What kind of faith do Christians have? It's faith in the Creator God, not in ourselves, and it's faith in Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son and Savior. We need faith because God is invisible, and life can be tough and challenging. The author of Hebrews tells us that faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. This means that faith is not about believing that you will become rich, successful, or get everything you want. Even when we pray and don't receive an answer, when we still face difficulties, and even when we are persecuted, we are told to believe in Jesus, who we don't see now but will surely see someday. Look at the examples of those who had faith.

Abel offered worship that pleased God and was killed by Cain out of jealousy. Why did Abel die for offering worship that pleased God? Was his life a success or a failure? God considered Abel righteous, and though he died, his faith still speaks to us. He was a martyr who offered worship that pleased God. True people of faith are true worshippers.

Enoch walked with God and was taken up without experiencing death. As the apostle Paul said, "For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain." It means living and dying for the Lord. True people of faith always walk with the Lord.

Noah obeyed God's word and prepared the ark, which saved his entire family from the flood. God considered Noah righteous, and though he faced difficulties for a long time, his faith led to the salvation of his family. Do you have a head of faith in your family, someone who obeys God's word wholeheartedly? If not, I hope you become that head of faith. A head of faith is someone who obeys God's word even when there are no visible results.

Without faith, we cannot please God. Through faith, patience, self-control, and obedience, we can please God, and He will bestow abundant blessings on us and share them with us. I hope you and I become those who believe in the living God and continue to seek His face even in the midst of difficulties. I hope that, through our obedient faith, we bring joy to God.

Loving Heavenly Father,

We believe in Your living presence. Even in difficult and challenging circumstances, we continue to look to Your face. We believe that You will bring about what You have promised and we continue to obey and move forward. We pray that You bestow blessings upon us, who seek to obey Your will. God, may You be pleased with our obedient faith.

We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, the source of our faith. Amen!
